Quesada Cigars will be releasing an additional two vitals in its Heisenberg line. The Heisenberg TP40Q will be offered in both a box-press figuardo and a rounded vitola. These cigars will be offered as a retail exclusive cigar to Great Neck, New York retailer Tobacco Plaza. Information has been posted on the store’s blog.
The Heisenberg TP40Q joins the Tatuaje Exclusive Series Tobacco Plaza DD and the Padron (1926 Serie) TP40 as retail exclusives to Tobacco Plaza. All three cigars are meant to commemorate co-owner Marshall Holman’s 40 years in the cigar industry.
The Heisenberg vitola appears to be similar in shape to the Corneta Cuadrada, but the difference is the TP40Q is larger – measuring 6 x 56/65. Both the rounded and box-press format will have the same dimensions. There will be 500 cigars of both the round and box-press editions (for a total of 1000 cigars). Each box will contain 10 cigars and the box will have an SRP of $114.95
The Heisenberg by Quesada series was announced toward the end of last year. This is a cigar project with the theme “Embrace Uncertainty”. This is a new release that is intended to create an aura or mystery around it. In other words, details about the blend, tobacco origins, factory, and quantities being made are purposely held back. The intent is not to over-analyze the composition of the cigar, but rather sit back, relax, and enjoy the cigar experience.
The name is derived the Uncertainty Principle in Quantum Mechanics named for Werner Heisenberg. Heisenberg won a Nobel Prize in 1932 for his work in Quantum Mechanics. The formula for this principle is displayed on the box in the photo to the right. The principle asserts that the position and momentum of a particle cannot be asserted simultaneously. The principle is the intent of the theme of this cigar: the idea is if we try to over-analyze the details of the cigar, the less we can derive from the experience of it.
A launch event will be held July 18 at the Tobacco Plaza store. Master Blender Don Manuel Quesada will be in attendance.
The Heisenberg in the Corneta Cuadrada scored a 92 on Cigar Coop back in February. Here is a recap of the Heisenberg line:
