Alec Bradley Cigars, who is known for keeping many of their IPCPR releases low key until the actual trade show made one announcement last week, the Alec Bradley Mundial. Information on this new cigar was first reported in a 7/2/13 article by Cigar Aficionado.
The cigar line was a project that Alec Bradley owner Alan Rubin has been pondering for the past five years. The cigar uses the same wrapper that is found on the Alec Bradley Prensado – which was the Cigar Aficionado Cigar of the Year in 2011.
The Alec Bradley Mundial will be released in five sizes. The cigar also incorporates the use of an inverse torpedo shape. According to the Cigar Aficionado article the shape is known as “Punta Lanza” which means “point of the lance”. The article also mentions this was a reference to a mentor of Rubin’s.
The Mundial will be showcased at the 2013 IPCPR Trade Show in Las Vegas. At a glance, here are the particulars
The cigar will be made at Honduras’ Raices Cubanas factory:
Wrapper: Honduran Trojes
Binder: Hondruan, Nicaraguan (Double Bnder)
Filler: Honduran, Nicaraguan (four tobaccos with a heavy component of ligero)
