Recluse Draconinan Sidewinder – Rounded top

When Iconic Leaf Cigar Company announced their second blend, the Recluse Draconian back in February. they noted that three special vitolas were going to be unveiled at the 2013 IPCPR Trade Show in Las Vegas. These vitolas are known as the Sidewinders. True to their word, the company did not announce or leak anything prior to the trade show. However, once the show opened, the world got to see not only a unique shape, but a unique concept around this particular shape.

The Sidewinders combine the best of a rounded cigar and a box-press cigar.  The company has referred to this as a “side press” cigar.  It is rounded on the top and bottom, but box-pressed along the sides.  It also has a tapered tip at by the cap.

As a by-product of the design, the cigar features a cap that does not require clipping.  By squeezing the sides, it allows the cap to easily loosen and then can removed rather easily.
