My Father Cigars is making a run of 500 boxes of a 6 x 48 rounded version of its Flor de las Antillas blend called the MAM-13 LE. The cigars will be divided among five retailers in Virginia, Tennessee, North Carolina, and Alabama. Retailers Cigars and More in Alabama and Emerson’s Cigars in Virginia are two retailers that have confirmed they will be receiving 100 boxes of this vitola.
The MAM-13 LE marks the second rounded vitola to be released in the Flor de las Antillas line. It measures 6 x 48, which is slightly shorter than the 6 1/2 x 48 rounded Short Churchill that was released to Holt’s Cigars in Philadelphia earlier this year.
For 2013, My Father Cigars has made several limited edition retail exclusive vitolas of the Flor de las Antillas – including a the Holt’s Short Churchill, a lancero to Up in Smoke, a Toro Grande (6 x 60) to Binny’s in Illinois, and the 5 3/4 x 54 “DeSocio” (exclusively distributed by Alliance cigar).
The Flor de las Antillas is a Nicaraguan puro that was released by My Father Cigars in 2012. The box-press robusto cigar scored a 92 on Cigar Coop, and the toro size is well-known for being Cigar Aficionado’s #1 Cigar of the Year for 2012.
