E.P. Carrillo is currently taking pre-orders for its E.P. Carrillo INCH Short Run 2014 cigar. This cigar will be made available in three sizes, but will differ than the sizes done from previous versions of the Short Run series. In a discussion with a representative of E.P. Carrillo, Cigar Coop has been told that after the release of the Short Run 2014, the series will be put on “hold” and the emphasis will be on the upcoming “Generations” series.
The blend was described to us as having a mix of Dominican and Nicaraguan tobaccos, including the incorporation of corojo. The three sizes will mirror the original three sizes of the core line INCH series including a 5 7/8 x 60, 5 x 62, and 6 1/4 x 64. In the past the Short Run releases have also been done in three sizes, but all four previous editions had sizes of: 4 7/8 x 50, 5 7/8 x 52, 6 1/4 x 60. Cigar Coop has been told the timetable should be in February for shipping.
There were no further details in terms of what this hiatus means for the Short Run series, or the upcoming Generations series. It has already been announced that the long-awaited Perez-Carrillo blend would be the first release of this series, but in terms of production and limited/general availability nothing has been released.
Cigar Coop has also been told that this year an E.P. Carrillo 5th Anniversary Cigar is being planned and that the E.P. Carrillo Limitada series could be put on hold as well.
