And now there is five…. five lines that is….
Today MoyaRuiz announced that Civil Disobedience, a line announced in May originally as an event only cigar will become the company’s fifth regular production offering. The cigar will be showcased at the 2016 IPCPR Trade Show.
According to Danny Moya of MoyaRuiz Cigars, consumer demand played into the decision.
“Since the release of Civil Disobedience last month we’ve received a ton of emails regarding the availability of this cigar. We first announced it as an event exclusive but with all of the uncertainty with the FDA ruling about event cigars we decided to put it to a vote via our social media. The results were overwhelming! 98% voted yes. So Civil Disobedience will be available to all retailers nationwide at the IPCPR.”
Civil Disobedience joins the La Jugada Claro as two new regular production offerings offered by MoyaRuiz. In addition, the company has three other regular production lines with La Jugada Prieto, La Jugada Habano, and The Rake.
The cigar’s theme was inspired as a response to the recently announced regulations on premium cigars by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). The cigar gets its name from Henry David Thoreau’s essay by the same name. In that essay, Thoreau makes the case for disobedience against unjust government rules. Thoreau’s picture adorns the packaging.
The cigar itself features an Ecuadorian Habano wrapper over Nicaraguan binder and fillers. It is available in one size a 5 x 50 Robusto packaged in 10 count bundles. The company is donating a portion of the proceeds of the sale of the cigar to Cigar Rights of America (CRA).
