At the 2016 IPCPR Trade Show, Altadis USA unveiled a new limited edition under its Romeo y Julieta brand known as the Romeo y Julieta Reserve Rare 11 Years Old. The cigars are named for the fact that they were found in the Flor de Copan factory aging rooms where they had been resting for 11 years.

“The cigar is crafted by our very own, very patient, Grupo de Maestros who showed incredible restraint by placing them out of sight in our cedar room to age for 11 long years,” said a company spokesperson in a press release. “This act of passion resulted in a work of art rolled in a rich mahogany wrapper with a perfectly balanced aroma profile. Each elegantly aged smoke leaves behind a long finish with hints of dried fruit and deliciously, smooth earth and woody notes—an exquisite experience designed to invite and delight adult cigar enthusiasts.”

The blend of the Romeo y Julieta Reserve Rare 11 Years Old consists of an Habana 2000 wrapper, Honduran binder, and a combination of Nicaraguan and Honduran filler. The cigar is available in one size – a 5 3/4 x 48 vitola.

In addition to the years of aging, the number 11 also plays into the Romeo y Julieta Reserve Rare 11 Years Old in other ways The cigars are priced at $11.00. Each of the cigars are packaged in 11 count boxes. There is a total allocation of 1,000 boxes for the release.
