For the past three years, De Los Reyes Cigars has showcased different installments of the Saga Short Tales Series, the company’s series of short smokes consisting of different blends and different themes. For 2019, De Los Reyes decided to change gears and showcase a release outside the Saga Short Tales series. That release was called Saga Solaz.
Saga Solaz features an Ecuadorian-grown Connecticut Shade wrapper over Dominican tobaccos that come from the Reyes’ farms. It gives Saga a three size Ecuadorian Connecticut line to go alongside Saga Golden Age, Saga Blend No. 7, and Saga Short Tales lines.
There are three sizes to the Solaz line: Robusto (5 x 50), Gordo (6 x 58), and Churchill (7 x 48). The Gordo and Churchill offer two of the larger sizes in the Saga brand’s portfolio.
As for the name it refers to the period of relaxation following a day’s work. Solaz is intended to be a cigar to be enjoyed during that time.
