Alec Bradley has announced it will be producing its proprietary diamond-shaped vitola on its Black Market Estelí blend. Dubbed the Alec Bradley Black Market Estelí Diamond, the cigar will ship to retailers this June.
Alec Bradley introduced its diamond-shaped vitola in 2014 with the Alec Nica Puro Diamond Rough-Cut. The Black Market Estelí becomes the second Alec Bradley vitola to use the 6 1/4 x 54 diamond shape. According to the company, the Black Market Estelí Diamond will be replacing the Nica Puro Diamond Rough-Cut.
“The Nica Puro Diamond Rough-Cut has been a hit with premium cigar enthusiasts every year since it was introduced,” said Alec Bradley Director of Sales and Marketing, Jonathan Lipson. “The shape pays homage to (Alec Bradley Founder) Alan Rubin’s triangular cigar – Trilogy. For 2020, we wanted to change things up a bit and try diamond pressing the superb Black Market EstelÍ blend. The Black Market Estelí Diamond is sure to please palates globally!”
The blend features dark natural wrapper from Nicaragua, a double binder combination of Honduran and Nicaraguan leaves and fillers from Nicaragua. The blend was modified with an extra leaf of Nicaraguan Habano Ligero to make the blend slightly bolder. Production is handled by the Plasencia Factory in Estelí, Nicaragua.
The Alec Bradley Black Market Estelí Diamond will be presented in sixteen-count boxes with a total allocation of 1,500 boxes for 2020. Pricing is set at $9.85 per cigar.
