This morning, Espinosa Cigars reported the passing of Humberto “Machito” Garcia. Machito, together with his son Carlos, and Erik Espinosa were instrumental in the establishment and operation of the La Zona factory in Estelí, Nicaragua.
Machito had managed several factories in Cuba prior to coming to Nicaragua and eventually joining up with the La Zona factory. At La Zona, Machito and his son Carlos played a key role on the ground in Nicaragua in the overall factory operations.
“Machito was a wealth of knowledge and experience. He was instrumental in the day-to-day operations of the factory, and his presence contributed greatly to the factory’s overnight success,” said the company in a statement on its social media pages. We at Espinosa Premium Cigars are saddened by his loss and offer his immediate family our most sincerest condolences.”
