Alec Bradley Cigar Company has announced it will make a national release of a 6 x 52 Toro size of its Alec Bradley Trilogy line of cigars. The Trilogy is a three-blend series, highlighted by its innovative triangular-shaped vitola. The new Toros will be released in ten-count boxes, featuring a triangular mold shape and available in the Authentic Corojo, Exotic Maduro, and Native Cameroon blends meant to mirror the profile of the original release.
The Trilogy was actually first introduced back in 2002, but the line would eventually be retired. While the line was retired, Alec Bradley said the demand persisted for this cigar. In 2019, Alec Bradey President Alan Rubin was a guest on KMA Talk Radio. Smoke Inn owner and KMA Talk Radio host Abe Dababneh convinced Rubin to bring back the Trilogy and the wheels were put in motion.
Just after the 2021 Premium Cigar Association Trade Show, the return of the Trilogy was officially announced. A Robusto-sized version of the Trilogy was offered exclusively to Dababneh’s Smoke Inn shops. The cigars were packaged in an 18-count sampler consisting of three of each of the Trilogy blends. A total of 300 of the samplers were released and at the time it was released, Alec Bradley said a national release of a Toro size would follow later in the year.
“I began asking about relaunching Trilogy when I started in the family business in 2017,” said Bradley, who managed the Trilogy project. “When I was given the green light on Trilogy, my two main goals were to create something beautiful to pay homage to my dad’s accomplishments and to celebrate the many successes of Alec Bradley. The triangular mold shaped boxes are stunning and will become a true collector’s item for our fans.”
Each of the three blends is available in ten-count boxes. Alec Bradley originally slated the Trilogy Toro release for 1000 boxes of each iteration, but the success of the Robusto sampler drove the company to double production. The cigars are produced at Tabacos De Oriente in Honduras.
“Although we’re in a ‘boom’ and tobacco is at a premium, we were able to secure enough premium aged wrapper, binder and filler for the three Trilogy blends,” Alan said. “By doubling production, we’ve increased the probability that more of our brand advocates will have the ability to enjoy Trilogy. The way things are going; this may be a one and done release.”
The Alec Bradley Trilogy blends each feature a Honduran Connecticut-seed binder and a combination of Honduran and Nicaraguan fillers. The Trilogy Authentic Corojo is finished with a Honduran Corojo wrapper, the Exotic Maduro features a Nicaraguan Maduro wrapper from Jalapa, and the Native Cameroon features an African Cameroon wrapper.
Pricing is set at $15.00 per cigar or $150.00 per box before any applicable taxes. Plans are for the Trilogy Toro cigars to ship in November.
