Crowned Heads Le Pâtissier, a cigar that was introduced in 2021 as a limited edition PCA Exclusive, is returning. The company is bringing back the blend in four different vitolas, and it will receive new banding and packaging. The new Le Pâtissier will have a launch at the 2022 Premium Cigar Association (PCA) Trade Show and will ship later in July 2022.
The original 6 1/2 x 44 Lonsdale PCA Exclusive size that was released in 2021 is not a part of the four vitolas being released. These sizes include Senadores (6 1/8 x 48); No. 50 (4 3/8 x 50); Canonazo (5 7/8 x 52); No. 54 (5 3/8 x 54). Each is presented in 20-count boxes.
The blend consists of a Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper, a Nicaraguan binder from Jalapa, and fillers from Costa Rica and the Ometepe and Pueblo Nuevo regions of Nicaragua. The cigars will be presented in 20-count boxes. Production comes from Tabacalera Pichardo, the factory owned by Crowned Heads strategic partner ACE Prime.
“We knew going into last year’s PCA show that we had something special in the Le Pâtissier blend,” said Jon Huber, co-founder of Crowned Heads in a press release. “Having said that, dialing that blend down into a 44 ring gauge was a challenge as we could only use lower priming wrappers that would yield a thinner cover leaf. Immediately after the release, we went to work on repurposing the Le Pâtissier blend into a slightly larger ring gauge, and it took the flavor profile and performance to the next level. The result is a Broadleaf (CT) expression that is completely unique to any of our previous forays with that wrapper.”
The cigar is said to be inspired by Le Carême, another Connecticut Broadleaf cigar made at Tabacalera La Alianza in the Dominican Republic. That cigar was named for a specific French chef, Marie Antione Carême.
The PCA Trade Show opens July 9th in Las Vegas, Nevada.
