Prior to the 2022 Premium Cigar Association (PCA) Trade Show, much of the focus for Rocky Patel Premium Cigars was around The Edge 20th Anniversary release. However, come trade show time, Rocky Patel had one surprise it unveiled, the Rocky Patel DBS.
DBS stands for double broadleaf selection. This is because of two Broadleaf leaves used in the blend – one from Pennsylvania and the other from Honduras. The blend uses a San Andres Mexican wrapper. A double binder uses the Pennsylvania Broadleaf leaf along with a Nicaraguan leaf. The Honduran Broadleaf is a part of the filler that also incorporates Nicaraguan tobacco.
DBS will come in three sizes: Robusto (5 1/2 x 50, SRP $20.00), Toro (6 1/2 x 52, SRP $21.00), and Sixty (6 x 60, SRP $23.00). The cigars come in 20-count boxes. Production comes out of TAVICUSA in Nicaragua. DBS is expected to ship to retailers in October.
