United Cigars has announced that next week it is shipping Red Anchor cigar line to retailers. Red Anchor was a dormant brand acquired by United Cigars. It’s a brand with a long history and can actually be traced back to 1772. According to United Cigars, Red Anchor was the first boutique cigar brand ever.

Last month, the cigar was showcased at the 2022 Premium Cigar Association Trade Show. The cigar was released in one size – the 6 x 52 Admiral size. A total of 250 25-count boxes were sold out to retailers at the Trade Show. The 250 boxes celebrate Red Anchor’s 250th anniversary this year. Production comes from the KBF (Kelner Boutique Factory), owned by Hendrik Kelner Jr. The cigar is described as medium strength, medium bodied.

“I am very honored and proud that our cigar factory was given the opportunity to relaunch this historical brand,” said Hendrik Kelner Jr. “We made a blend using some of our best family farmed tobaccos, this was a personal cigar project, I wanted to involve the family as much as possible.”

“Every aspect of Red Anchor has been carefully crafted to properly encapsulate the 250-year history,” said Oliver Nivaud of United Cigars. “Working closely with Hendrik Kelner Jr. and the KBF team has been very smooth, this is a perfect marriage.”

Pricing is set at $25.00 per cigar or $625.00 per box.
