At Total Product Expo (TPE) 2023, Blackbird Cigar Company will introduce a new value-priced three-blend cigar line known as Glitch.

Glitch is a classic lemons-to-lemonade story. Back in 2022, Blackbird Cigar Company was producing a blend when their Master Blender arrived at the factory from a trip overseas to check on the tobacco crop. When he performed his usual quality-control procedures, he discovered the blend was not what he was expecting. He called a meeting to try to get to the root cause. It turned out that a new worker at the factory mixed up the codes for one of the blends of tobacco to be used in the blend. A meeting was held with Blackbird’s partners to explain the situation. During the meeting, one of the partners asked the question: “Did you dislike the flavor profile of the cigar?” The Master Blender responded: “I was not really thinking about it, why?” The partner said: “This is what we were looking for. We were looking for an affordable cigar that can compete in this market.” The frustrated group turned into a room filled with laughter. The other partner said: “I think I have the name for this blend, we will call it the GLITCH!”

Glitch will feature three cigar blends – each with a different wrapper: Connecticut, Habano, and Oscuro. The Connecticut and Habano feature a Mexican binder over Dominican and USA fillers. Meanwhile, the Oscuro features a Dominican binder over Dominican and USA fillers. Each blend will be offered in two sizes: Robusto (50 x 5) and Toro (52 x 6). Each will be presented in 20-count cardboard boxes. Pricing is set at $6.10 for each of the Robustos, while each of the Toros will be priced at $6.60.
