J.C. Newman Cigar Company has announced its long-awaited Angel Cuesta line will be released initially to 25 retailers who are members of the Tobacconist Association of America (TAA). The company expects it will then release to additional retailers twice a year going forward. The company also says the cigars will be available at it’s factory store located at the El Reloj factory in Tampa, Florida.

Angel Cuesta was first introduced at the 2022 Premium Cigar Association (PCA) Trade Show. The cigar is named for Angel LaMadrid Cuesta, one of the founders of the Cuesta-Rey cigar brand. Angel Cuesta was a friend of Spain’s King Alfonso XIII, who ruled Spain from 1886 to 1931.

Angel Cuesta joins The American as the two brands that are rolled at the El Reloj factory. Because it is only rolled by a team of two rollers that produce 150 cigars a day, the product is quite limited in terms of availability.

The blend for Angel Cuesta features Ecuadorian Havana Rosado wrapper over undisclosed binder and filler. They are rolled in three sizes and packed in cabinets of 20 cigars. They will be available in three sizes: Double Toro (6 x 52, SRP $18.00), Double Robusto (5 1/2 x 56, SRP $19.00), and a Grand Salomon (7 1/4 x 57, SRP $22.00).

A ship date was not announced. For more details on Angel Cuesta, see our PCA 2022 Coverage:
