C.L.E. Cigar Company has announced the release of its Asylum April Fools’ Day 2023. This is the third installment of Asylum’s 90 x 9 cigar. This year’s installment will get updated packaging and as a new twist will pay homage to the Chinese Zodiac.

The story of the Asylum April Fools’ Day project goes back to 2021 when the company put an April Fool’s joke on social media saying it was releasing a 90 x 9 cigar. This unexpectedly led to many retailers asking for the cigar. CLE Cigar Company, the parent company of Asylum, decided to green-light the project and turn the April’s Fool joke into reality.

The new packaging replaces the black and copper coloring with black and red coloring. The packaging will also feature the Chinese Zodiac’s Year of the Rabbit on the packaging. C.L.E. says future versions of the April fools’ Day cigar will also carry Chinese Zodiac symbols.

The blend of the Asylum April Fools’ Day us is a Honduran puro. Each cigar is packaged in a single coffin which is housed in five-count trays. Pricing is set at $41.40 per cigar or $207.00 per five-count tray.
