The year 2023 marks the tenth anniversary of the Davidoff Nicaragua cigar, and this year Davidoff will release a special limited edition cigar, the Davidoff Nicaragua 10th Anniversary Limited Edition.
When Davidoff Nicaragua was released in 2013, it was a ground-breaking cigar as Davidoff would deliver its first Nicaraguan puro into the marketplace. This also became the foundation cigar for Davidoff’s Black Band collection.
The Davidoff Nicaragua 10th Anniversary Limited Edition is not a Nicaraguan puro. The cigar features a wrapper from Ecuador over binder and filler tobaccos from Nicaragua. According to Davidoff, the wrapper, binder, and filler tobaccos combined have an age of 45 years. The filler features Estelí seco filler tobacco, which was aged in rum casks for a full six months – a first for Davidoff. The Davidoff Nicaragua 10th Anniversary Limited Edition comes in one size – a 6 x 56 Grand Toro. Each is presented in 12-count boxes.
“Coming from sophisticated and milder Dominican blends with our White Band Collection, we wanted to please those looking for a more intense palate stimulation. We thus ventured out into the world to diversify our portfolio with tobaccos which grew under different circumstances. We found what we were looking for in Nicaragua’s volcanic soil – a fiery intensity which our Master Blenders tamed and blended to Davidoff sophistication with an exciting bittersweet taste profile. Thus, Davidoff Nicaragua was born”, explains Edward Simon, CMO at Oettinger Davidoff. “For our Nicaragua 10th Anniversary Limited Edition, our experts took on a new challenge to create yet more depth for our loyal aficionados. Our labour-intensive cask fermentation and the remarkable age of the tobaccos have led to a full-bodied and refined cigar experience second to none.”
In addition, Davidoff will be making available a limited edition Davidoff Nicaragua 10th Anniversary Double Blade Cutter. This is made in Germany of brushed stainless steel in matt black with silver blades and displays the usual Davidoff Nicaragua pattern. The Davidoff logo is engraved on the blades and each features a serial number.
The cigars will ship on July 6, 2023, to Davidoff Appointed Merchants, Davidoff Flagship Stores, and select premium cigar retailers. Pricing on Davidoff’s website is $432.00 per 12 count-box ($36.00 per cigar) and $425.00 per cutter.
