JR Cigar has announced the second installment of the JR Pure Origin line, Terra de Andes. This cigar pays homage to the tobacco grown in the Andes Mountains region of South America. The JR Pure Origen: Terra de Andes will make its debut on November 1, 2023.

The JR Pure Origin line is meant to offer a more premium offering in the JR Cigar portfolio. At the same time, the blends of the JR Pure Origen line use rare and exotic tobaccos. The JR Pure Origin made its debut in 2021 with the JR Pure Origin Gran Vulcano, which paid homage to Nicaragua.

The Andes Mountain region is where it is believed the first tobacco plants were grown. Terra de Andes uses tobaccos from Peru and Ecuador in the blend. The cigar features an Ecuadorian Habano wrapper, an Ecuadorian Sumatra binder, and a combination of Nicaraguan and Peruvian fillers. The cigars are offered in three sizes – each presented in ten-count boxes: Robusto: 5 x 50 ($12.00/per single cigar, and $108.00/per box); Toro 5 x 50 ($13.00/per single cigar, and $117.00/per box); and 6 x 56 ($14.00/per single cigar, and $126.00/per box).

“With JR Pure Origin we have brought our exclusive lines to new heights, and we look forward to continuing that success with this release,” says Brad Winstead, CEO of JR Cigar. “In partnering with Rafael Nodal and the legendary AJ Fernandez, we have created a unique and complex cigar that tells the story of the region with each puff.”
