Matilde Special Edition

At the 2024 Premium Cigar Association (PCA) Trade Show, Matilde Cigars showcased a new limited-production offering, the Matilde Special Edition.

Matilde Special Edition is being launched in a 6 x 50 Toro. Produced at Tabacalera La Isla, the blend features an Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper and a binder from the Jalapa region of Nicaragua. The fillers consist of tobaccos from Nicaragua, the Dominican Republic, and Peru. The use of the Peruvian tobacco is noteworthy in that this is the first Matilde cigar to use tobacco from this region. Brand owner Enrique Seijas says the use of the tobacco pays homage to his father, José Seijas, who was a big fan of this tobacco. The legendary Seijas Signature line makes use of Peruvian tobacco.

The Matilde Special Edition is targeted for a summer release. It comes in at a $13.25 price point. Enrique Seijas has said this blend is an ongoing limited-production offering.

This is the first of a series of Special Edition releases that will showcase around aged tobaccos.
