At the 2024 Premium Cigar Association (PCA) Trade Show, Serafin de Cuba launched its latest cigar, Juan De Fuca.
Juan De Fuca was a brand made in Tampa that traces back to the early 1900s. According to Serafin de Cuba owner Arnold Serafin, the cigar was produced in the 1960s. Originally, the brand was made by Morgan Cigar Company in Tampa. Juan De Fuca is named for a Greek sailor who served King Phillip II of Spain. He is best known for exploring the area between Vancouver Island and the Olympic Peninsula in the northwest part of Washington State. It was initially known as the Strait of Anián, which today is the Strait of Juan de Fuca.
Serafin fell in love with the brand and decided to acquire the Juan de Fuca trademark. Produced in Nicaragua, Juan de Fuca consists of a Cameroon wrapper, Dominican binder, and all Nicaraguan fillers. Juan de Fuca comes in one size – a 6 x 52 Toro. The suggested retail price of Juan de Fuca is $12.00 Serafin also said he worked to preserve as much of the original packaging as possible.
