The Drew Estate Liga Privada Unico Serie Year of the Rat is back for 2024. A limited release of the Year of the Rat has been exclusively made available to Drew Diplomat retailers.
Drew Estate first made Year of the Rat available in 2016. It was originally a lounge exclusive at a Drew Estate-branded lounge at the BB&T Center in Sunrise, Florida, home of the Florida Panthers. The release of Year of the Rat coincided with the 20th anniversary of Scott Mellanby’s “Rat Trick” during the Panthers 1996 Stanley Cup run. Year of the Rat returned in 2020 as an event-only cigar. In 2021, Year of the Rat saw its first release to Drew Diplomat retailers.
A Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper highlights the Liga Privada Year of the Rat. The remainder of the blend uses a Brazilian binder and fillers from Nicaragua and Honduras. The cigar comes in one size—a 5 1/2 x 46 Corona Gorda. The cigars feature a fan-tail cap and are each wrapped in gold foil. They are packaged in blue ten-count Liga Privada Unico Serie boxes.
“The premium cigar industry has a culture of storytelling at the brand and personal level, but it should never override the fundamentals of quality, consistency, and flavor profile,” commented Drew Estate founder and president Jonathan Drew in a Press release.
The Liga Privada Year of the Rat 2024 comes in at $20.00 SRP per cigar.
