Bond Roberts Línea D No 6
Bond Roberts Cigars has announced the global launch of its debut cigar, Línea D No 6, which will take place in mid-August. Línea D No 6 had a soft launch earlier this year at events in Miami, Florida, and Hong Kong.

Bond Roberts was initially established as a cigar exchange platform in 2019 between Rob Ayala of Friends of El Habano and Rob Fox of James J Fox Cigar Merchants. Since then, Bond Roberts has expanded its scope to include all its cigar lines. It is teaming up with the Oscar Valladares factory in Honduras to produce the Línea No 6, which was blended by acclaimed Cuban cigar roller Hamlet Paredes.

Blended by Hamlet Paredes as part of the Fabrica 5 concept. Fabrica 5 is an in-factory high-performance unit. The “5” refers to the five senses: sight, smell, touch, taste, and hearing.

Línea D No 6 comes in a Petit 109 vitola (50 x 5 7/8). Bond Roberts says it selected this format because of its scarcity in the Cuban and general cigar markets. The cigar features Honduran wrappers and binders with Honduran and Nicaraguan fillers. Paredes worked through 40 blends before finalizing the blend selected. The price for the Línea D No 6 Petit 109 is $16.00 SRP/cigar.

In October, a second vitola, the Bond Roberts 109 (50 x 7 1/4 inches), will hit the market.

“Since our launch events earlier this year, the response to the Petit 109 and 109 has been overwhelming,” said Bond Roberts CEO Rob Ayala in a press release. “With such a fantastic product, a brilliant team, global distribution in place, and a worldwide army of Bond Roberts zealots, I cannot wait for the official release date. I am so proud of Hamlet Paredes, Oscar Valladares, and Angel Miranda Battle, who has done a fantastic job with the brand’s artwork.”

“My familiarity with Nicaraguan and Honduran tobacco was essential to this project,” said Paredes. “Despite working with the best Cuban tobacco, which to me is very special, I can generalize and say that Nicaraguan tobacco is stronger than Honduran tobacco, while Honduran tobacco is, again generally, sweeter, softer, more aromatic, and closest to Cuban tobacco. Both Nicaraguan and Honduran tobaccos dance beautifully when they come together in the right way. I speak generally, of course, as tobacco will take characteristics not only from countries but from individual farms, regions within the farm, and the way they are treated throughout the fermentation process.”

“Every blend is its own movie, but I am always looking to create the special movie that will be seen by many people and deliver deep satisfaction, which they enjoy to the end with a smile on their face,” added Paredes.

James J. Fox will manage Bond Roberts’s distribution in the UK, while COH Cigars will handle distribution for the rest of Europe and Asia. Bond Roberts intends to introduce 15 cigars across two product lines into the market over the next three years.
