Lure Cigars has announced the release of “The Mean Jean.” This is a new regular production extension to Lure’s Habano core line. The Mean Jean comes in a box-pressed format but features a new blend. The new blend provides a bolder option in terms of strength and flavor and was made in response to the request of cigar enthusiasts. The Mean Jean is named after Jeanne, the wife of owner Lou Cross.
Blend-wise, the Mean Jean features a Habano 2000 wrapper over a Nicaraguan binder from Ometepe. The filler consists of tobacco from the Estelí and Jalapa regions in Nicaragua and also incorporates ligero priming from Ometepe. It comes in one size—a 6 x 52 box-pressed Toro.
In terms of packaging, the Mean Jean comes in ten-count sealed wax packs, wrapped in dark green heavyweight craft stock,
and includes a Boveda humidification pack. Pricing is set at $14.00 SRP per cigar.
Lure Cigars’ “The Mean Jean” will have an official July 27th, 2024, launch at Boll Weevil Fine Cigars in Enterprise, Alabama, on Tony Cross’ birthday (Lou’s son). “The Mean Jean” is also available for pre-order at select retailers listed on the lurecigars.com website. The company says shipping commences on July 27th.
