Oliva Cigars has recalled 60,000 of its slim promotional cigar lighters. The recall was issued by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.
The lighters are being recalled because they did not have child-resistant mechanisms and were also not tested to the U.S. federal requirements for child resistance. According to the product recall, children under five could ignite the lighters, posing fire and burn hazards.
Oliva did not sell these lighters but only gave them out as promotional items. The recall recommends disposing of the lighter to prevent children from getting hurt. Because this was a free product, no refund or replacement is being provided.
The recalled lighters featured Oliva Cigar Nub, Oliva, Serie V or Cain branding. These lighters have the brand name printed on one side, measure 3” x 1 ½” x ¼”, and are white, brown, or red in color.
