E.P. Carrillo has announced the release of the 15 Year Anniversary Cigar. As the name indicates, it commemorates the company’s 15th anniversary.
The E.P. Carrillo 15 Year Anniversary is a limited edition cigar featuring extra-aged tobaccos. The blend was developed by founder Ernesto Perez-Carrillo and Jorge Luis Fernandez Maique, who is the General Manager of Casa Carrillo, where the 15 Year Anniversary is being produced.
As for the blend, the 15 Year Anniversary consists of a ten-year old Mexican San Andres wrapper over a 15 year-old binder from the Jalapa region of Nicaragua. The fillers consist of a combination of eight distinct tobaccos. This includes Criollo ’98 Ligero from Estelí and Corojo ’99 Ligero from the Dominican Republic’s La Canela region. It also includes Nicaraguan Condega Viso Seco and Viso from Jalapa aged between five and seven years.
The 15 Year Anniversary comes in one size – a 6 1/2 x 54 Gran Toro presented in 15-count boxes. Total production is 5,000 boxes (3,500 U.S. and 1,500 International). Pricing comes in at $20.00 SRP/cigar. The launch will occur on November 15, 2024, at 8 to 8 Cigars in Villa Park, Illinois. Maique and Ernesto Perez Carrillo III will be in attendance.
“This cigar represents our journey over the last 15 years,” said Ernesto Perez-Carrillo, founder of E.P. Carri, in a press release. “It reflects the challenges we’ve overcome, the progress we’ve made, and the passion we bring to every cigar we create. We wanted to craft something truly special to commemorate this milestone.”
Jorge Luis Fernandez Maique added: “Working with these specially aged tobaccos has been a unique journey, each component telling its own story. We are very proud of the final blend.”
Ernesto Perez-Carrillo III said, “I’m looking forward to celebrating our 15th anniversary with our extended family at 8 to 8. This cigar was a passion project, and its release marks a major milestone for our company.”
