Many people are familiar with Quality Importers Trading Company (QI)’s broad portfolio of popular cigar accessories. Still, some may not be familiar with founder and CEO Michael Giordano’s wine brand, La Pistolina. La Pistolina is a passion project for Giordano, but it has also strengthened QI’s position as a lifestyle brand. On Episode 318 of the Prime Time Show, Michael Giordano (CEO), Alex Goldman (COO/President), Michael Giannini (Chief of Consumer Engagement), and Michael Boswell (Sales Director) discussed the project.
La Pistolina is a small-batch wine brand with three lines in its portfolio: Napa Cabernet, Super Tuscan, and Prosecco (Italian Sparkling Wine). The brand focuses on different vintages with its small-batch offerings.
Getting wine into commerce is not straightforward. Giordano talked about how the Xikar acquisition and COVID-19 delayed making his passion project a reality. When QI started contacting retailers who had bar components for their businesses, they found a gateway to introduce people to La Pistolina. Most recently, La Pistolina was showcased at Quality Importers Trading Company’s 2024 Spotlight Trade Show.
QI has looked at the additional of La Pistolina as another component in what is a unique value proposition. They offer a wide variety of accessories for different audiences and different uses. These accessories can be customized through Quality Importers customization lab, the SWAG BUNKER. Quality Importers now offers cigars through its Conspiracy brand, which also ties into its accessories. La Pistolina now expands this further. This is a triple-headed approach for accessories, cigars, and wines. Additionally, there are La Pistolina wine accessories available.
The wine is also available for purchase online.
