It’s Episode 46 of Let’s Get Pairing (LGP)! Tonight, Tripp and Denis tackle pairings with the Macanudo Estate Reserve Flint Knoll.
In recent years, several brands from the Scandinavian Tobacco Group (STG) have collaborated with various spirits companies, including the use of barrel-aged tobacco. In 2022, Macanudo was among the STG brands that collaborated using barrel-aged tobacco. For its project, Macanudo would engage with Napa Valley-based winery Flint Knoll. What was different about this project compared to the other STG barrel-aged collaborations is that Macanudo would be working with a winery as opposed to a distillery – and that the barrels used for aging tobacco would be French Oak barrels that were previously used to age Flint Knoll’s single-vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon. The 2022 edition of this cigar ranked #6 on the 2023 Cigar Coop Countdown.
