United Cigars has announced that its Gold Star line will now be a regular production line. Last year, United Cigars showcased the Gold Star as a limited edition offering. Gold Star is now offered in three regular production sizes. The line will be released to select retailers in March and will be fully released at the 2025 Premium Cigar Association Trade Show in April.
Gold Star was first introduced in 1995 but was dormant until last year when it was added to the United Cigars portfolio. At that time, United Cigars introduced the Gold Star Limited Edition, a 6 x 54 Toro. Now, the Toro returns as one of the regular production offerings along with Robusto (5 x 52) and Gordo (6 1/2 x 60) sizes. All three sizes come in 20-count boxes. Pricing ranges between $12.00 and $14.00 per cigar.
The Gold Star features a Habano 2000 Intermedio wrapper from the Quevedo region of Ecuador. The blend also features a Sumatra binder and contains Connecticut Broadleaf and Dominican filler.
“Gold Star pays our homage to the classic Dominican tradition while pushing the boundaries of flavor complexity. Every draw is a tribute to the passion and skill from the Ventura family factory, our time together on this blend was driven by a true friendship,” said Oliver Nivaud in a press release.
The 2024 Limited Edition release raised $30,000 for the Navy Seal Gold Star Program. PCA 2025 opens on April 12, 2025, in New Orleans, Louisiana.
