At the 2025 Premium Cigar Association (PCA) Trade Show, the Rough Rider Sweets Candela will debut. Rough Rider is the brand owned by La Galera and Tabacalera Palma owner Jochy Blanco. This is the third blend in the Rough Rider Sweets line, which includes the Rough Rider Connecticut and Rough Rider Maduro.
As the name indicates, Rough Rider Sweets Candela features a Candela wrapper. The remainder of the blend features a Mexican binder and a combination of Criollo ’98, Piloto Cubano, and Cameroon fillers.
It was back in 2015 when Blanco acquired IndianHead Cigars from Bill Bock. Rough Rider was one of the brands in the IndianHead portfolio. At that same time, Blanco launched his own premium brand in the marketplace – La Galera.
The Sweets Candela comes in three sizes: Robusto, Toro, and Gordo. Each comes in 25-count boxes. Pricing is in the $7.00 to $8.00 range.
The 2025 PCA Trade Show opens in New Orleans, Louisiana, on April 12, 2025.
