The selection is in, and Casa Carrillo has announced that La Historia Silk will have an Ecuadorian Habano wrapper.
The La Historia Silk, a limited-edition project, was announced prior to the 2025 Premium Cigar Association (PCA) Trade Show. Lissette Perez-Carrillo led this initiative. It aimed to create a cigar tailored to the preferences of women smokers while being enjoyable for everyone. At the announcement, it was revealed that three blends were under consideration, each featuring a different wrapper: San Andrés, Ecuadorian Connecticut Shade, and Ecuadorian Habano. The selected wrappers were based on feedback from women smokers. A collaborative process involving retailers, consumers, and women participating in cigar sampling followed. Ultimately, the Ecuadorian Habano blend was announced as the winner at PCA 2025.
The blend received much positive feedback at the PCA show. Consequently, Perez-Carrillo states that the La Historia Silk may become a limited production item, similar to the Encore Black.
The final packaging for Silk was not on display at the PCA Trade Show, so we do not have a photo to share with you yet. The Silk will be available in a rounded 6 x 52 Toro size. Prior to the show, Casa Carrillo stated that a release of 500 boxes was scheduled for the third quarter of 2025.
