At the 2025 Premium Cigar Association (PCA) Trade Show, Cavalier Genève will introduce Project Broadleaf. This will be the fourth wrapper in Cavalier’s eponymous gold diamond line. As the name indicates, it will use a Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper and is a limited production line.
Project Broadleaf takes a very different approach from other releases in the portfolio. Due to the challenge of sourcing Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper, Project Broadleaf will come in four unique limited production releases annually. Each release comes in a distinct size and blend variation centered around the Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper.
The first release is the Project Broadleaf Skywalker, a 6 x 48 parejo cigar. It features a Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper, a San Andres binder, and fillers sourced from Nicaragua and Honduras. The wrapper undergoes a fermentation process lasting 3 to 3.5 years, followed by an additional year of resting in bales between fermentations. A total of 100 boxes, each containing 50 cigars, have been produced. Of these, 75 boxes will be available on a first-come, first-served basis at the PCA Trade Show. Skywalker will ship immediately after the PCA Trade Show, with pricing set at $15.60 SR per cigar.
The second release is a 5 1/4 x 52 vitola known as Project Broadleaf Boartamer. This blend differs from Skywalker as it has a Habano Jalapa binder and fillers from Nicaragua and Honduras. Boartamer is available in bundles of ten aluminum foil cigars, with a total global production of 500 bundles. Shipping is anticipated between early and mid-June 2025. The price per cigar is set at $14.60.
The details regarding the third and fourth releases under Project Broadleaf for 2025 remain undisclosed. However, all four releases will become annual offerings, with potential tweaks to their blends over time.
“These cigars are some of the most intense and rich releases we’ve introduced so far, offering a bold new experience for our customers. This is an exciting step for us, and we can’t wait to share it with the public,” commented Sébastien Decoppet, Founder of Cavalier Genève Cigars
