De Los Reyes Cigars has announced the Don Julio Year of the Snake. This is the second consecutive year De Los Reyes has released a Chinese Zodiac-themed cigar in its portfolio, following up on 2024’s Don Julio Year of the Dragon. Specifically, De Los Reyes says the Year of the Snake pays homage to the Year of the Wood Snake. The company showcased the new vitola at the 2025 Premium Cigar Association (PCA) Trade Show.

The Chinese Zodiac consists of 12 animals that cycle through a repeating sequence. What many may not know is that each zodiac year incorporates one of five elements: Earth, Fire, Metal, Water, and Wood. As a result, while each animal repeats every 12 years, the animal and element combinations follow a 60-year cycle. It’s the first Year of the Wood Snake since 1965.

The blend is described as a “shammy” Ecuadorian Habano leaf over all Dominican binder and fillers. The cigars come in 24-count boxes, all in one size: a 52 x 6 Toro. A total of 500 boxes have been produced.

The Don Julio line pays homage to Don Julio Samuel Reyes Fermin, a third-generation member of the Reyes family, who was renowned as one of the industry’s legendary growers. Notably, Don Julio is De Los Reyes Cigars’ most premium line.
