Villiger Cigars has announced it is revamping the La Capitana line. La Capitana gets a new presentation, a new blend, and a different factory to make it. The revamped La Capitana will debut at the 2025 Premium Cigar Association (PCA) Trade Show.
Villiger says La Capitana stands for a fearless female captain who steers her ship through the rough seas. In 2022, Villiger revamped the La Capitana Cigarillo line and incorporated new packaging. Now, the handmade version of La Capitana has a similar packaging upgrade.
Production for La Capitana now is coming out of the Villiger de Nicaragua factory in Estelí, Nicaragua. The blend is positioned as a milder one featuring an Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper over a Nicaraguan binder. The fillers are both Nicaraguan and Dominican. Presented in 20-count boxes, La Capitana comes in four sizes: Lonsdale, Robusto, Toro, and Churchill.
The 2025 PCA Trade Show opens April 12, 2025, in New Orleans, Louisiana. La Capitana is scheduled to ship in May.
