Our visit to the La Flor Dominicana booth at the 2025 Premium Cigar Association (PCA) Trade Show continues an annual tradition for the Cigar Coop Coalition team. This year, the difference is that the LFD sales team has a new Vice President in Litto Gomez Jr, and a new branding and marketing Vice President in Eddy Guerra. Since sales is a primary activity at the Trade Show, this was Litto Jr’s show. Watching Litto Jr, he handled his responsibilities with poise and confidence. We were thrilled to have the opportunity to sit down with Litto Jr. for our annual interview. There is plenty to look forward to this year, as La Flor Dominicana has revamped the Suave and introduced new packaging for the Oro line.
Suave
The La Flor Dominicana Suave received a significant overhaul. This includes new blends and new packaging for the line. When looking at Suave, La Flor Dominicana started with a clean slate and decided to construct the line from the ground up based on everything they have learned in the business. The packaging is quite different from much of the La Flor Dominicana packaging, which I would tend to classify as classic: the new Suave packaging features bold and red colors, Cuban-style wrap boxes, and all-new bands.
The Suave Natural and Suave Maduro lines remain mild to medium blends, but as mentioned, the blends have changed. An Ecuadorian Corojo wrapper highlights the Suave Natural. The remainder of the blend uses a San Andres binder over all Dominican fillers. It comes in three sizes: Maceo (48 x 5), Maximo (54 x 6), and Gobernador (60 x 6 1/4).
Meanwhile, the Suave Maduro uses a San Andres wrapper. The remainder of the blend features a Jalapa binder and all Dominican fillers. It comes in two sizes: Grand Maduro No. 5 (52 x 6 1/4) and Grand Maduro No. 6 (54 x 5 3/4).
Pricing for the Suave line comes in between $8.40 and $12.80 SRP.
Oro 20-Count Boxes
La Flor Dominicana is introducing 20-count boxes for the Oro Natural (No. 6 and Chisel) and Oro Maduro (No. 6). These will now be sold in parallel with the Oro Tubo five-count boxes.
