Lure Cigars has announced The Last Cast 2025 Edition. It’s the second annual release of this limited-edition cigar.
The Last Cast was first released as a tribute to honor Lure Cigars’ founder, Lou Cross III‘s father, Lou Cross Jr.
One of Lou’s last and fondest memories with his father was enjoying a cigar and telling stories. Lou’s father was a lifelong outdoorsman, avid fisherman, and cigar enthusiast. The Last Cast is a phrase used when fishing to denote the final cast of the day or night before ending an outing. This gives hope for one more bite, one more thrilling moment, and one more story to tell. Lou created Lure Cigars to bring people together through “tackle and tobacco”. The company’s trademarked slogan is “smoke great cigars and tell tall tales”.
The Last Cast features a USA Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper over a binder from Ometepe, Nicaragua. The fillers are all Nicaraguan, coming from the regions of Esteli, Condega, and Ometepe, Nicaragua. The Last Cast comes in one size—a 6 x 54 Toro, which is slightly larger than the standard size. Pricing comes in at a $15.00 SRP, which is the same as last year. Finally, production has been increased to 4,500 ten-count craft paper bundles featuring Boveda humidification.
The Last Cast ships to retailers the week of June 25, 2025. Lure Cigars are distributed by Valacari Cigars.
