Macanudo Vintage 1997 Maduro

Remember back in March when I said those metal bands on the Macanudo Vintage 1997 Maduro were going away?   In fact, I even posted a picture of this cigar sporting the new paper band.  Well, not so fast….

At the 2011 IPCPR trade show an important announcement was made on this line – a new vitola is being added.   This one will be a 5 1/2 x 50 Robusto size vitola.   This one will also contain a metal band.  The cigar is note expected to ship until the Fall of 2011.   When this is released this will be shipped with the metal band.

From our discussion with General Cigars, the plan   to retire the metal bands earlier this year has been put on a hold for a little while.   The word I heard is that the fall release will be the final release of the Macanudo Vintage 1997 cigars with the metal band.
