Ditka 89 – photo linked from Camacho Cigars Facebook page

Camacho Cigars posted a picture of some new packaging on their Facebook page for what is being called the Ditka 89 Edition.  According to the post, this cigar is scheduled for release in late November and early December.

Over the course of the past year, Camacho has launched the Ditka line of cigars that pays homage to NFL Hall of Famer Mike Ditka.  Currently there are four blends in the line: The Player, The Coach, The Hall of Faner, and the Throwback. The number 89 represents Ditka’s number when he played Tight End for the Chicago Bears.  Recently the Bears announced the retirement of Ditka’s number and has said this would be the last number they would retire.

2013 has proven to be a very busy year for Camacho.  In addition to the Ditka series, the brand itself had a relaunch under its “Bold Standard” campaign.  The brand also has plans to launch the limited edition Camacho Blackout and Camacho Liberty 2013 later this year,
