“As the Quetzal has made its way to retailer shelves, this cigar continues to maintain a high standard of excellence and remains some of Emilio’s best work to date.”
#21 – Los Regalos Quetzal by Emilio Cigars |
Coming in at #21 on the 2013 Cigar of the Year countdown is the Los Regalos Quetzal by Emilio Cigars. This is a cigar that was launched at the start of the 2013 Cigar Coop Cigar Year. It became the fifth line of cigars by Emilio joining Serie H, AF, Draig, and La Musa.
The Los Regalos Quetzal marks the third consecutive year that Emilio Cigars has appeared on the Cigar of the Year countdown. It also marks the third Ecuadorian Habano wrapper cigar to appear on this year’s countdown.
I had a chance to smoke the Los Regalos Quetzal prior to its release. The blend was so impressive that is was chosen as the Cigar Coop Best Pre-release blend for 2012. Once the cigar was released, it continued to be a stellar performer. The flavor profile consists of chocolate, orange citrus, pepper, and herbal spice. These are full-bodied flavors and are countered by medium to full strength.

This is one of the few 6x60s I enjoy. At first I had wishy-washy thoughts on the cigar, until I smoked it and was pretty impressed with it.
