RoMa Craft Tobac has started work on a project being called “The Panetela Project”. This project will introduce a 5 1/2 x 37 across each of the core RoMa Craft project lines. Plans for release are targeted for July, 2014.
According to Skip Martin, co-founder of RoMa Craft Tobac, the project is for one of the company’s strongest retail partners. According to Martin, two will be a store exclusive for the retail partner while the other two will be initially be a single release in a limited edition eight count sampler known as “El Catador de las Panetelas”.
The CroMagnon Breuil and Aquitaine Breuil be the panatela for the those two lines and become the ninth frontmark made for each of those lines. The Intemperance BA XXI Vanity and Intemperance EC XVIII Humility will be the panatelas across the Intemperance lines and become the seventh frontmark made for those two lines those lines.
Martin also said, “I have had the pleasure over the last few years, as a factory owner and student of the cigar industry, to develop my craft. My partner, Esteban Disla, and I have primarily focused on the core lines for RoMa Craft Tobac. On the side, however, we have worked to perfect our versions of industry classics. Our mixed-filler project, The Weasel, hasn’t gotten there yet, but our efforts to produce a extremely strong blend (Neanderthal), a Candela (Fomorian), a completely hand-crafted product (La Campana) and special sizes that equal or exceed the experience of our core lines (A.W.S. IV, Mode 5 and Venus) have yielded products that we believe compete with the best in their respective categories.”
