Drew Estate has announced that Willy Herrera’s second blend in his signature line, the Norteno by Willy Herrera will have production shifted back to the Drew Estate factory. The announcement came on the same day that Herrera was promoted to the company’s Master Blender.
When news of the Norteno was announced, it was also announced the line would be made at Joya de Nicaragua.. The company says the move to Drew Estate was made to allow Joya de Nicaragua to focus on production of the MUWAT Kentucky Fire Cured line which is currently backordered as well as Joya’s own new products.
The Norteno introduces a maduro blend into the Herrera Esteli line. The blend was announced to feature a San Andres Maduro wrapper, Honduran binder, and Nicaraguan filler. The plan was to launch in six box-press sizes.
The company says the plan is for the Norteno to be released at the 2014 IPCPR Trade Show.
