Gurkha Cigar Group has announced plans to relaunch the Pedro Martin Ruby and Pedro Martin Maduro lines. These were lines by which Gurkha acquired the trademarks following the shutdown of Martin Family of Cigars last year. The cigars will be officially be re-launched at the 2014 IPCPR Trade Show in Las Vegas.
As a part of the integration process, Gurkha Cigar Group created the Pedro Martin brand. The first release in that brand was the Pedro Martin Limited Edition. – released late last year This had been a release planned by Martin Family of Cigars, but never got released because the company ceased operations. The Pedro Martin Ruby and Pedro Martin Maduro were previous existing lines by Martin of Family of Cigars.
Both the Pedro Martin Ruby and the Pedro Martin Maduro will feature new packaging and new banding. The Pedro Martin Maduro was actually previously called the Pedro Martin “M”, so it has undergone a slight name change. Gurkha has not said if the blends have changed, but the blend components appear to have remained consistent from when they were a part of Martin Family of Cigars. These cigars will continue to be made at TABASA Esteli Nicraragua under the supervision of Arsenio Ramos.
“I am beholden to both Juan Lopez and Kaizad Hansotia for giving me the opportunity to honor my father through the Gurkha brand. I know dad is looking down and proud to see his legacy continue,” said Maria Martin, Official Brand Ambassador to the Pedro Martin line
