Easton, Pennsylvania-based retailer Famous Smoke Shop has announced a pair of shop exclusive cigars from Alec Bradley – the Alec Bradley 1600 Brazilian First Crop and Alec Bradley 1633. Both cigars pay homage to years when tobacco crops were first planted in the New World.

As the name indicates the Alec Bradley 1600 Brazilian First Crop pays homage to the year 1600 – the date when tobacco was first planted in Brazil.  The cigar itself features a Brazilian Habano wrapper described as being from a rare “first crop”. The remainder of the blend consists of a Costa Rican binder over a filler of Nicaraguan tobaccos from Esteli and Jalapa and Honduran tobacco from Jamastran.

The Alec Bradley 1600 Brazilian First Crop will be available in four sizes (Robusto, Toro, Churchill, and Gordo) and packaged in 20 cont boxes.

“We’re especially pleased to partner with Alec Bradley for this new selection by including it in our ever-expanding portfolio of high-quality house brands,” said Famous marketing director, John Lamberti in a press release. “Cigar smokers drawn to dark, full-flavored cigars will find the Alec Bradley 1600 Brazilian selection extremely enjoyable as a solid afternoon or after-dinner smoke.”

The second cigar, the Alec Bradley 1633 pays homage to the year 1633 – the estimated year that the first tobacco plant was planted in Connecticut. The blend was developed by Nestor Plasencia and features a wrapper from Connecticut, a Costa Rican binder, and a combination of fillers from Honduras, Nicaragua, and Panama. The cigar is available in four sizes (Robusto, Toro, Churchill, and Gordo), and presented in 20 count boxes.

In a press release, Famous Smoke Shop and Cigar Advisor Copywriter and Cigar Reviewer Jonathan Detore descirbed the Alec Bradley 1633 as follows. “The Alec Bradley 1633 has a great balance of smooth and rough, if that makes any sense. It’s got a smooth, cool draw, but hits you with some slight spice and strength. This is a perfect example of when to not judge a book by its cover. It looks mild because of the Connecticut wrapper, which is stereotypical for mild cigars. However, by bringing in heavy tobaccos from Nicaragua along with the sweet Honduran longfiller, you are left with a medium bodied well-rounded smoke.”
