The La Aurora Preferidos Series blends is receiving a series of three line extensions. At this week’s IPCPR Trade Show in Las Vegas, a new Corona (5 x 42), Robusto (5 x 50), and Toro (5 1/2 x 54).

Plans are for the new line extensions to first be added to the Preferidos Sapphie (Ecuadorian Connecticut offering), Preferidos Diamond (Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper offering), and Preferidos Emerald (Ecuadorian Sun Grown wrapper offering). Miami Cigar and Company Vice President Jason Wood says the extensions will come to the Preferidos Ruby (Brazilian Maduro wrapper offering), Preferidos Platinum (Cameroon wrapper offering), and Preferidos Gold (Dominican Corojo wrapper offering) at a later date.

Each of the three sizes will be offered in 18 count boxes.

Wood also says the rationale for adding these extensions will provide a lower price point for consumers, particularly entry level consumers who might find the near $20.00 price point for a perfecto in a tube to be more expensive.

The Corona size is listed as a 5 x 42 vitola, slight shorter than the 5 1/2 x 42 Corona Especiales released on the East Coast last year.
