Surplus by CAO

General Cigar has announced a new value-priced bundle offering under the CAO brand known as Surplus by CAO. Surplus will be a blend that is available in three blends: Shade, Maduro, and Sweet.

“With Surplus by CAO, we wanted to create a cigar that gives more people the chance to experience our quality tobacco offerings,” said Cory Beardsley, Brand Manager in a press release. “Surplus brings our blending expertise to a price point that anyone can get behind, whatever your profile or smoking preferences.”

Produced in Honduras, all three blends feature an Ecuadorian Sumatra binder and Dominican Olor in the fillers. The Shade uses an Honduran grown Connecticut wrapper. Meanwhile the Maduro features a Mexican San Andres wrapper. Finally the Sweet uses an aromatic Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper.

The three blends are offered in three sizes: Robusto, Toro, and Gigante. Production comes out of Honduras. Pricing comes in between $45.80 and $69.75  SRP per bundle.

Surplus by CAO essentially replaces the Odyssey brand in the General Cigar portfolio as a value-priced bundled line. A few weeks ago, General announced the Odyssey brand would be moving to Forged Cigar Company, General’s sister sales division.
