General Cigar Company has announced that Alan Willner, the company’s Vice President of Marketing since 2011 has left the company to pursue other interests. The company also announced that current General Cigar President Regis Broesma will assume the day to day leadership of General’s marketing efforts.
In a press release announcing Willner’s departure Broesma commented, “Since joining the company in 2011, Alan has contributed to the success of our portfolio of brands and we wish him the very best in his future endeavors.”
“I will provide day-to-day leadership of the marketing team. Change is always uncomfortable, but with this change I have great confidence in the team to drive the business forward. Our strategy and brands are strong, and we are well positioned to take General Cigar to the next level. It’s time to release the company’s full potential,” added Broesma.
The move is the third executive departure in 2016 for General Cigar Company. Late in 2015, General Cigar Company parted ways with its former President Dan Carr. Earlier this year, General Cigar Company Creative Director Michael Giannini departed the company.
