At the 2018 IPCPR Trade Show, Esteban Carreras introduced a natural habano offering under its Mr. Brownstone line – appropriately titled Mr. Brownstone Natural.
The Mr. Brownstone Natural consists of a Nicaraguan Habano wrapper over a Nicaraguan binder from Jalapa and a combination of Nicaraguan fillers from Condega, Estelí, and Jalapa. It has been launched in four sizes: Boolit (4 3/4 x 46), Toro (6 x 52), Chuchy (7 x 49), and Sesanta (6 x 60). Three of the sizes are presented in 20-count boxes with the exception being the Boolit which is presented in a 32-count box.
The first Mr. Brownstone line made its debut in 2017. The name Mr. Brownstone is a slang term associated with heroin and owner Craig Cunningham said the name was selected for satirical purposes. That cigar was the first Connecticut Broadleaf offering in the Esteban Carreras portfolio. With the addition of the Mr. Brownstone Natural, the original Mr. Brownstone is being dubbed Mr. Brownstone Maduro and will not feature black footer ribbons instead of brown, which will remain on the natural.
As for the profile, the Mr. Brownstone Natural was described as more dialed-back from the Mr. Brownstone Maduro which was a much fuller offering. The Mr. Brownstone Natural was also described as being Cubanesque in flavor profile – the first cigar to fit that mold in the Esteban Carreras portfolio.
At a glance, here is a look at the Mr. Brownstone Natural:

Should be a good one. I for one find the satire behind the name goofy. Craig is a smart and approachable cigar guy…something easily lost in the industry IMO. Can’t wait to try it…
