At the 2019 IPCPR, Southern Draw Cigars will introduce a new addition to the Rose of Sharon premium cigar line. The Desert Rose is described as “a hearty sun-loving cigar that thrives in these hot temperatures.”
According to the company’s press release, Desert Rose “has a heartier wrapper and is a more robust version of our original blend.” Sharon Holt, co-founder of Southern Draw Cigars and inspiration for the Rose of Sharon line and known as “The Boss Lady” by her husband Southern Draw Chief Evangelist Robert Holt, continued, “The Desert Rose is covered in a velvety smooth Ecuadorian cloud-grown Claro wrapper, and integrity from a thick and flavorful Condega, Nicaraguan Habano binder and a new filler combination marrying both Corojo 99 and Piloto Cubano ligeros from Honduras and the Dominican Republic. The Desert Rose is an almost flawless medium bodied, medium flavored cigar that is as beautiful as the original blend while offering a buttery smooth yet spicy ‘burst of flavor’ with each draw before yielding to a very clean palate. We leave the rest of the images and unique flavor transitions to those that choose to make a purchase.”
The cigar is produced in Estelí, Nicaragua at the Tabacalera AJ Fernandez. It is a single size – a 5 1/2 x 52 box-pressed Belicoso Fino. A total production of 75,000 cigars is allocated for 2019 with full production to increase to 150,000 cigars in subsequent years. The 2019 releases will be divided into three shipments in equal amounts scheduled for July, September, and November. Pricing is set for $11.99 per cigar or $119.99 per ten-count box.
Cigar Coop will be providing extended coverage for the Desert Rose at the 2019 IPCPR Trade Show. We will be “front and center” at the Southern Draw booth for the live unveiling of Desert Rose on Saturday, June 29th at 11am. In addition, Robert Holt will be a guest on Prime Time Special Edition #57 on July 23rd at 9:15 EDT where we will discuss the project and give an opportunity to win SWAG that night.
