With Oliva Cigar Company taking the Oliva Serie V Maduro into regular production, many thought this might be the first time in over a decade that autumn would not see an Oliva limited release. That has all changed as Oliva has shipped a limited edition line extension to its Oliva Serie V Melanio Maduro, the Gran Reserva Limitada Figurado.

The Oliva Serie V Melanio Maduro features a San Andres Maduro wrapper over Nicaraguan binder and filler. The Gran Reserva Limitada Figurado is a 6 1/2 x 52 box-pressed perfecto. It is packaged in ten-count boxes. Cigar Aficionado reported a total production of 7,000 boxes.

Melanio gets its name from Oliva family patriarch Melanio Oliva. Melanio Oliva was a tobacco grower in 19th century Cuba. He is believed to be the first Oliva family member to grow tobacco.

At press time, the Gran Reserva Limitada Figurado has begun to arrive at retailers.
