While there are four big companies staying home from the Premium Cigar Association (PCA) Trade Show in 2020, two other larger companies won’t be joining them. Today both Arturo Fuente and J.C. Newman Cigar Company announced they will be attending PCA 2020. Both companies typically have exhibited in the same booth and are partners in their distribution company.
In a press release, Carlos P. Fuente, Chairman of the Fuente Corporation commented, “Since the 1970 RTDA show in New York City, my family has supported the RTDA/IPCPR/PCA and we remain committed to Brick & Mortar tobacconists as the irreplaceable link between cigar manufacturers and consumers. They tireless work, day-in and day-out on the retail side of our beautiful industry, and are on the front lines assisting and educating our wonderful consumers. Arturo Fuente will always support Brick & Mortar tobacconists and do right by them.”
Fuente continued, “We truly believe that members of the PCA are an extension of our family and the annual trade show is the single most important event in keeping our families strong and successful. We look forward to spending quality time with everyone at the PCA show in Las Vegas.”
Meanwhile, in a joint statement, Eric and Bobby Newman, co-owners of J.C. Newman Cigar Company commented, “As America’s oldest, family-owned premium cigar manufacturer, we are proud to say that we attended the very first RTDA trade show in 1933 and have attended every RTDA/IPCPR/PCA trade show since then. This year will be no different.”
The Newmans continued, “Throughout the many ups and downs in the cigar industry, the trade show is the one time of the year family-owned cigar manufacturers and brick & mortar retailers have come together to discuss ideas to further our business and protect our industry. Given the many regulatory and legal challenges that manufacturers and retailers are facing today, the show is more important and relevant than ever.”
PCA 2020 opens July 10 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
